RONAN BOUROULLEC [FR] PUBLIC SPACE

Friday 17 September 2021, 6-6:30pm

Paris-based designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec are renowned for their subtly intellectual furniture, lighting and objects developed for some of the world’s leading brands including Cappellini, Magis and Flos. Following their 2016 Rêveries urbaines exhibition at the Vitra Design Museum in which they proposed a vocabulary of furniture and landscape typologies for the public realm, the brothers are increasingly invited to intervene in urban landscapes. Most recently they designed the public plaza around the Bourse de Commerce–Pinault Collection in Paris. In this conversation, with Creative Director Stephen Todd, Ronan Bouroullec will share insights into the studio’s approach and the way urban design can turn transitory spaces into destinations.

Special thanks to dedece for production support and generous loan of the Officina chair by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Magis.
