
Making Paper Planes Chairs
Presented by Mobilia in partnership with Moroso and Kvadrat Maharam, Making Paper Planes Chairs is a hands-on workshop giving design enthusiasts the opportunity to put their mark on a design masterpiece. Participants are invited to dress a ‘Paper Planes’ armchair maquette from Moroso using Kvadrat Maharam fabrics.
Designed by Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien of acclaimed London-based studio Doshi Levien, the Paper Planes armchair was inspired by the folding and modelling of paper.
General (Adults) Workshop
A panel of judges (Doshi Levien’s Nipa Doshi, Mobilia’s Salvatore Fazzari, Sydney Design Week Creative director Stephen Todd and Powerhouse’s Senior Curator of Design and Architecture Keinton Butler) will select one lucky winner who will receive an original, full-size Paper Planes armchair worth $7,000.

Young people between the ages 12–17 are invited to dress a ‘Paper Planes’ armchair maquette from Moroso using Kvadrat Maharam fabrics during Sydney Design Week. At the end of the workshop, take home your chair model to put on display.
