WSU Panel 1 Making Greater Sydney

Western Sydney University & Powerhouse

The Making Greater Sydney panel explores the conditions – climatic, historical, demographic and more – that make Western Sydney the place it is today and into the future.

Panellists include Rae Dufty Jones, Associate Professor of economic and social geography at WSU; Marni Reti, a Palawa and Ngātiwai woman, who was awarded the Droga Indigenous Architecture Scholarship and the 2021 NSW Architect’s Medallion and now works at award-winning firm, Kaunitz Yeung Architecture; Mark Tyrrell, founder and director of Tyrrell Studio, which is designing the Southern Parklands project, Adjunct professor in the School of Design, Architecture and Building, UTS Dr Rhonda Itaoui, Postdoctoral Research fellow, Centre for Western Sydney who is interested in geographies of diversity and belonging in city spaces.
